Clients change. They move, they switch phone numbers, they get a new dog. Here's how to keep their record up to date in Teddy.
Open the Clients & Pets page from the sidebar.
Tap the client whose info you want to change.
On the Overview section, scroll down to User Details.
Tap Edit Information.
You'll see the same fields as when you first created the client: name, phone, email, address, and tags. Change anything you need to and save.
Some tips:
Phone numbers are the most important thing to keep current — Teddy sends reminders and confirmations by text, so a wrong number means silent missed appointments.
Tags are the easiest way to change how a client is treated. If someone has started tipping generously, add Big Tipper. If a 4-week regular bumped up to every 2 weeks, swap the tag so your reports stay honest.
Address changes matter if you do mobile work or send physical mail.
A new puppy shows up at the appointment. You don't need to create a new client — you can add the pet to the client's existing record.
From the client's detail page, scroll down to Pet Details.
Tap Add New Pet.
Fill in the pet form (name, type, breed, and whatever else you know).
Save.
The new pet appears in the Pet Details list and is immediately available when you create a new appointment for this client.
To change things about a pet that's already on file — a breed correction, an updated weight, a new behavior tag — tap into the pet's card from the client's detail page and update the fields, then save.
Things worth keeping current:
Weight / Size — dogs grow, and your pricing might depend on it.
Birthdate — nice for birthday touches.
Pet Behaviors and Pet codes — if a pet has started biting or become nervous, flag it so whoever grooms next knows what to expect. See Tags and pet codes reference.
Fixed Status — may change over time.
If a pet has passed or moved to a different groomer, remove it from the client's record to keep things tidy. This doesn't affect historical appointment data — the pet still appears in past bookings — but it won't show up in new appointments.
Tip: If a client moves to a different household but you still do their pets, the cleanest option is usually to update the client record rather than delete and recreate. You'll keep all their history, notes, and pet details intact.
